The space

BEDROOM Double bedroom with a luxury bed and a 190x160x30 mattress, oak parquet, white linen curtains and damask fabric. Private en-suite bathroom with chromotherapy shower, Smart TV and a large wardrobe. A space designed for deep rest after a day among the monuments of Rome.

Bedroom beds: 2.

LIVING ROOM

The heart of the apartment: a living room with an original seventeenth-century cross-vaulted ceiling. Here you can feel history above your head. The palace's historic floor, a dining table for 4 people, a sofa bed with a 190x140x18 cm memory foam mattress for 2 additional guests, Smart TV.

Total: up to 4 beds.

BATHROOMS

Two modern bathrooms with chromotherapy shower. One en-suite in the double bedroom for maximum privacy, one separate and accessible from the living room.

Complete toiletry sets, plus premium towels and linens in both.

KITCHEN

Separate, fully equipped kitchen: induction hob, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and everything you need to prepare your meals. Floor with decorative tiles that recall the history of the palace.

THE SILENCE OF THE COURTYARD

The apartment overlooks the palace's inner courtyard. A quiet that in the center of Rome is a true luxury: no traffic, no voices, only the silence of four centuries of stone.

THE PALACE

Built in 1676, Palazzo del Grillo includes a medieval tower dating to 1223, the Torre della Miliziola: stone upon stone, it tells of centuries of Roman history.

Between 1965 and 1987 its rooms housed the studio of Renato Guttuso, one of the greatest Italian painters of the twentieth century.

A building where history is not a decorative detail, but the very structure of the place.

THE CONCIERGE

The entrance to the palace is attended by a doorman. A presence that turns a stay into a residential experience: the kind of detail that sets a lived-in noble palace apart from a simple building in the center.

THE PANORAMIC ROOFTOP TERRACE

Above your heads, on the roof of the palace, there is a shared terrace that takes in all of Rome in a single glance: the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, the Capitoline Hill, the dome of St. Peter's.

Access is allowed only when accompanied at check-in.

THE CURIOUS STORY BEHIND THE NAME

The palace takes its name from the Grillo family, Genoese nobles who moved to Rome in the seventeenth century. But the name that still echoes through the streets of the Monti district is that of Marquis Onofrio del Grillo: an aristocrat famous for his legendary pranks, so celebrated that Alberto Sordi drew inspiration from him for one of his best-loved films.

Crossing the threshold of Palazzo del Grillo means stepping into four centuries of Roman history. An aristocratic residence, a home to artists, a keeper of the memories of a neighborhood, Monti, which remains the most authentic heart of Rome.

We look forward to welcoming you at Palazzo del Grillo!
